Honeybell Orange or Tangelo is a citrus fruit, which is a cross between a tangerine and a grapefruit or a pomelo (Papanas or Chinese Grapefruit). Honeybell oranges are believed to have originated in southeast Asia about 3500 years ago. Honeybell has a taste very much similar to a tangerine but with lots of juice and often the fruit provides only juice without any flesh. There is a characteristic knob at the head of the Honeybell orange that can easily identify the fruit.
Honeybell oranges are available in many varieties including Orlando Orange and Minneola Orange. Orlando is famous for lots of juice, mildly sweet taste, pebbled texture, very few seeds and a tightly fitting rind. Orlando Honeybell oranges are known to be more tolerant to the colder climates. The trees of Honeybell grow to a large size and the leaves are peculiar cup shaped, which make it easy to identify the tree. Minneola orange is named after the city Mineola in the Lake County in Florida. Mineola oranges are fairly large in size about 9-10 inches in circumference and the color is bright reddish-orange. Honeybell oranges develop from December through February, January being the peak period for the yields.

Orange is a small flowering tree of the citrus family with a sweet or citrus fruit. Orange is a hybrid of ancient origins from southeast Asia. Orange tree bears evergreen leaves and grows to a height of about 10 meters. Leaves are alternate and oval shaped and the fruits are types of berry. The name orange has come from Sanskrit language. In many countries, oranges are known as Chinese Apples. Fruits are fleshy, soft, with lots of seeds and derived from a single ovary.
Seed of orange fruit is called as pip and the white thread like substance inside the peel are known as pith. Oranges are cultivated in several varieties. Some of the types include Blood Orange, Navel Orange, Persian Orange, Valencia Orange, Clementine Orange and Honeybell Orange, among others. Orange is an acidic fruit like other citrus fruits and has a high value of PH level, though lesser than the lemon but as high as household vinegar. Brazil, USA and Mexico are the three largest producers of orange. Orange trees can be grown in warmer climates if cultivated outdoors and cooler climates if grown indoors.

Orange is a popular citrus fruit from southeast Asia, which is also known as Chinese Apple in many languages. Apart from oranges, the other citrus fruits include lime, lemons and grapefruits, among others. Orange fruits are fleshy, soft and derived from a single ovary, seed called as pip and the white thread like material inside the peel is called as pith.

The juice of blood oranges is dark burgundy colored resembling the color of blood and hence the name blood orange. Navel oranges get the name from human navel, as it looks like human navel from outside. Persian Oranges are grown widely in southern Europe, and since the first fruits introduced to Italy were bitter, the sweet oranges brought from India by Portuguese traders have become more popular. Valencia Oranges find extensive use in orange juice extraction because of its sweet taste and it being a late season fruit, it is a popular orange variety in many countries.
