Where has the time gone?? September 13, 2013
Hey guys! To say the summer flew by for me would be an understatement. So much has happened since the last time I posted, that I don’t even know where to begin. I know I last said that I was going to try an post more often, but I just didn’t make the time this summer. Hopefully now that things have settled down a bit, I will be posting more often.max lift
Here are some things that have happened over the past couple of months:drivelan opiniones
1. My mom’s surprise birthday partyprincess hair Aktion
Beginning in June I started planning a surprise 60th birthday party for my mom on August 10th. To me, she is the greatest women that I know, and I wanted to do something really special for her big day. With my sisters help, we decided to get a bunch of her friends together for a sunset dinner cruise on the Calypso Queen out of Clearwater Beach. When I originally started planning this I thought that if we could get a dozen of her friends to commit to going then it would be great! Well, my mom is such an amazing person that 36 of her friends came! The party was a HUGE success and I’m pretty sure this picture shows how surprised my mom was when she walked onto the boat.varyforte
2. I dropped out of my first race everbuy spanatal
I mentioned a while ago that I was training for THIS marathon that is two weeks from today. Well folks, I’ve decided not to run the race. Am I Injured? Nope. Am I unable to make the trip up north? Nope. I decided that right now, marathon training is not what I want to be doing and my body isn’t ready for it at the moment. Training in the Florida summer heat for a marathon takes A LOT out of you. I wasn’t hitting the paces that I needed to on my runs, and I wasn’t enjoying my runs. I wasn’t “in it” mentally. Has anyone ever felt like this? I have enjoyed taking the past few months off of following a strict plan and have really had fun this summer! I also have started swimming and biking a lot more and I am really enjoying it. Maybe a triathlon is in my future? I think that it’s important to listen to your body and mind and for me, the moment running isn’t fun anymore, then that is when I need a change.
3. I turned 25!
My birthday was August 27th and I turned the big Two-Five! I spent my birthday weekend with Ty and he pampered me and took be out for some birthday drinks. On my actual birthday he was out of town for work, so my mom surprised me and came into town for two days! I guess this is the year of surprises. My sister and mom took me out to a local restaurant called Café 118. . Everything is vegan and nothing is cooked above 118 degrees to preserve all the nutrients of the food. You can check out their menu HERE. I had wanted to try this place for a while now, and had heard nothing but good things about it and it did not disappoint. We each ordered something different so that we could try a little bit of everything.
I got the Pad Thai which made with zucchini noodles. It was really tasty, but a little spicy for me. (my mom loved it though)
My sister got the veggie spring rolls and my mom ordered the Lasagna which in my opinion was the best! If you are ever in Winter Park, Florida, and are looking for a light, healthy meal, I highly recommend this place.
It’s finally starting to feel like fall a bit here in Florida and I couldn’t be more thrilled. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still hitting the 90 degree mark every day, but it is ALOT less humid which makes a world of difference.
Have you ever dropped out of a race that you are training for?
Have you ever thrown a surprise party? Better yet, has a surprise party every been thrown for you?
Whats your favorite time of year to run?
- Mine is fall winter and spring. Basically just NOT summer!
